The 2024 valley forge campout was an amazing trip. Scouts took on the 8.4 mile Valley Forge trail, and witnessed its many monuments and landmarks, though what made this campout especially unique is that we rode our bikes instead of hiking it on foot. Along the way, there were many landmarks and historical buildings, such as the headquarters of various generals, and replicas of the living quarters of their troops. We ate lunch at a train station by George Washington’s Headquarters, and all other meals occurred at our campsite. We all had a lot of fun biking the trail, and many scouts took the opportunity to work on earning the biking merit badge. Overall, it was a great time for anyone who likes biking, hiking, or history.
